women supporting women
We are honored to introduce this exclusive collection of handwoven baby alpaca ponchos, lovingly crafted by Maria and the women of the Pacchanta community high in the Andes Mountains of Peru.
Woven from ethically sourced natural fibers and infused with generations of Quechua tradition, each piece carries the warmth, beauty, and spirit of the sacred mountains into your everyday life.
Proceeds go to supporting her family and the education of her 4 children.
More than a garment, these ponchos are an invitation to wrap yourself in ancestral craftsmanship, feminine wisdom and timeless investment of a handmade masterpiece.
Meet the Artist, maria
Meet Maria, an extraordinary artist, entrepreneur, and mother of four from the Pacchanta community, nestled 4,300 meters above sea level in the Andes of Peru, near the breathtaking Ausangate, one of the most magnificent mountains in the world.
Maria is a proud member of the Quechua people, the Indigenous stewards of the Andes, carrying forward generations of ancestral knowledge, artistry, and connection to the land.
Each alpaca poncho is lovingly handcrafted by Maria using ethically sourced natural fibers, honoring traditional techniques that have been passed down through her matriarchal lineage. Every piece tells a story of mountain life, cultural heritage, and the skilled hands of women that bring these works of art to life.
Rooted Rose is deeply honored to partner with Maria. This collaboration is rooted in respect, relationship, and a shared commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship while creating meaningful opportunities for women and families in the Andes.
When you wear one of these ponchos, you are wrapping yourself in more than warmth; you are carrying a piece of living tradition, woven with care, beauty, and the spirit of the mountains.
